The Dawnspear Ballista

The once vast and numerous Order of Leo has shriveled and waned from its once majestic heights to an organization barely holding on. Their ships, while elegant and the best that can be made, are aging and their systems antiquated.

But age alone and old designs don’t mean they aren’t still adequate for the task.

Take for example the venerable Dawnspear Ballista. This enchanted artillery piece fires an unending barrage of energy based projectiles out towards any miscreant their Patrol May encounter.

Each of the tension arms on these Ballistae were blessed in the temple of Apollo and the enchanted bowstring was wound in the pools of Artemis by Naiads. This allows the force of drawing the string to be channeled along the tension arms and through the string creating an enchanted bolt. Upon releasing the string the magic projectile flies towards the enemy and impacts with an explosion of fire and death.

Some of these weapons have been known to bear the enchantments of Hippocrates and will heal their operators every time the weapon fires.

For sometimes under a simple looking device lies enchantment more powerful than the most complex technomancy
